Process: Fill the reactor with water and set the circulation pump to 800 rev/min. Start feeding the water-stabilizer solution at 3.95 kg/min, followed by the Mn3+ complex, also at 3.95 kg/min. Then start pumping in the vinyl acetate, finally beginning to feed the ethylene into the vinyl acetate feed at a pressure of 260 psi, the pressure-sustaining valve on the outlet of the Loop reactor being adjusted accordingly. This formulation was found to give a 95% conversion of ethylene with a 13.4% by weight incorporation in the final polymer.
